Basic editing

Overview

Before you start editing your website, we would recommend that you spend a few minutes exploring the general structure of a website built with the editor. Every website is built out of rows – the first row is the header, the last one is the footer, and in between you can add as many additional rows for your content as you need. Rows are the basic containers for the next important element: the columns. Each row can contain up to four columns, but at least one. And in these columns you can add and edit your widgets, such as text, images, contact forms, etc. Or to put it differently: Your content widgets are arranged in columns, and these columns are arranged in rows.

As interaction speaks louder than words, we recommend trying out some dragging and dropping: Open a page in the editor and select a widget with your mouse. Now drag it around slowly and hover over another column, another row, or to wherever you like. You will see that there will be different areas highlighted, in which you can drop the widget – elsewhere in the same column, in another column, or as a new row. Or just try it out with a new widget.

Also, it’s important to know that you can click on any of your website’s widgets to edit them. You only have to click on them. And there’s no need to press a save button: The editor constantly saves your changes while you work.
