Manage Pages

You can rearrange, manage, and add new pages in the Pages section. Organise your website by using multiple pages to improve your visitors' experience and increases the chance that they will find the information they need. This section is also where you can create different language versions of your website.

You can create a pop-up – a small window that appears in front of a web page – in the Pop-Ups section. Pop-ups can be used to draw the attention of your website visitors to a special offer or new product, for example, or to invite them to sign up to your newsletter. Either set up a pop-up to appear when a linked is clicked or automatically by using a personalisation rule.

Adding pages

Click on the Pages tab in the left menu.

Click New Page.

Select a page type. Page templates are pre-populated with relevant widgets.

The Page URL page type links the page to another URL instead of creating a new page.

Once you've selected a page type, enter a title for your new page and a URL if necessary.

Click the 'Add Page' button and start creating your new page.

Reorganising pages

In the Pages menu, click and drag a page to move it where you want it to go. Dragging a page slightly to the right nests the page as a sub-page of the page above.

Page settings

Access the page settings by clicking the gear icon next to each page.

Page setting options

  • Rename - rename the page in the editor. NOTE: this does not change the page’s URL.
  • Hide in navigation - hide the page in the navigation menu. It can still be reached by using the direct URL.
  • Duplicate - creates an exact copy of the page.
  • Page URL - change the page's URL or permalink.
  • SEO - here you can access all the page’s SEO settings.
  • Set Password - set a password for the page to restrict access.

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine's unpaid search results, also known as "natural" or "organic" search results. From the page's SEO menu, you can edit the page title, description, and keywords. You can also edit the header HTML for that page only. SEO values you add to individual pages will override any SEO values given in the website settings.

Prevent Search Engines from Indexing a Page

For maximum SEO benefits, all pages of your website are discoverable by search engines. However, if you would like to instruct search engines not to index a certain page, you can do so in the page settings.

Click Pages on the left menu.

Click the settings button for the specific page.

Click SEO.

Click the button to the right of 'No Index' to instruct search engines to not index this specific page.

Search engines are now blocked from crawling this page. This action will only affect a single page. You will need to mark this setting for each page you do not want to be indexed.

Adding a Pop-up

Click Pages in the left menu.

Click the Pop-ups tab.

Click the New Pop-up button.

Select a pop-up type. The pop-up type pre-populates the pop-up with widgets.

Once you've selected a pop-up type, enter a name for your pop-up.

Click 'Add Pop-up'.

How to Activate a Pop-up

Unlike a page generated in the navigation automatically, a pop-up can only be conditioned by being clicked as a link or by using a Website personalisation rule.

Linking to a Pop-up

There are several widgets that allow you to link to a pop-up, such as Photo Gallery image links, text and buttons. When editing the links for these widgets, simply click the pop-up option to bring up the pop-up selector.

Using Personalisation Rules to Condition a Pop-up

NOTE: Pop-up Conditions only occur ONCE per session

You can also create a pop-up using Website personalisation. Create a personalisation rule. In the "action" area, select the pop-up action.

For more information on Website personalisation, see our Personalisation Rules article.

Editing A Pop-up

A pop-up is very similar to a page. You can add new rows, columns and insert any widget into a pop-up.

You can adjust the size of the pop-up by dragging the corner handlebar.

Pop-up Settings

The pop-up menu comes with 3 basic settings.

  • Rename - Rename the page in the Editor. NOTE: this does not change the page URL.
  • Duplicate - creates an exact copy of the pop-up.
  • Delete - deletes the pop-up. This action is irreversible unless you have a backup.

Things to consider

Page SEO vs website SEO

We recommend adding SEO information on the page level, so that each page can have a unique title and description. This is more beneficial than having one title and description shared across the entire website.

I'm using a pop-up via Website personalisation but it's not working

Pop-ups created with personalisation conditions only appear once per session. A session is any activity on your website and remains active until at least 30–60 minutes have passed.

To see your personalisation rule in action, try 1) clearing your cookies and cache, 2) using another browser, or 3) waiting until the time has expired.
